New Cruise Ship Makes Summer Visits in 2009

A brand new cruise ship is plying the Great Lakes this year, the Clelia II, of Toronto, Ont.
Shown docked at Houghton’s Municipal deep water pier, the ship carries up to 100 passengers in comfort. She is 290 feet long, with a beam of 50 feet. The cruse ship leaves Toronto, and makes stops at Niagra Falls; Welland Canal; Monitoulen Island; Mackinaw Island; Soo Locks; Houghton/Hancock; Thunder Bay, Ont; and Duluth, MN. The vessel takes 7 days per journey, and disembarks at Duluth, MN, for a passenger flight back home, then re-embarks a new tour group for the return trip East bound back to Toronto, Ont. There are 50 suites, two lounges beauty salon, boutique, and a hospital on board. The ship also has a restaurant, and other amenities, including internet access and TV.
