The end of January saw the beginning of 2012 Michigan Tech Carnival snow statue competition, and Phi Kappa Tau was already hard at work, hoping for a third consecutive win. This photo of the Fraternity members hard at work during the night, the last week of statue building. Many statue builders had problems this year, due to a very mild winter, and above freezing temperatures during the days leading up to the judging day. “DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE DREAMS OF DETROIT”, is the theme of this year's statue. This description gives the details of this year's PKT statue.
At it's regular meeting on February 15th, the Hancock City Council passed a special resolution honoring PKT on it's fifth consecutive First Place Statue Competition win. Presenting the plaque is Hancock Mayor William Laitila.
