New Transit Garage - 2010 (Updated)

A new 4,000 square foot City Transit Garage is under construction on the Department of Public Works (DPW) property, on Tomasi Drive.
Construction on the new Transit Bus Garage is now completed, and ready for occupancy, on the D.P.W. site. This will make maintenance and storage on the busses much easier. (PREVIOUSLY ...) Mid August saw the building exterior all but finished. Interior construction still continues. Site work and cleaning up still need to be done as well, but things are well on their way to full occupancy in October/November. [Previously .......] This is the site of the new garage facility. Currently, all bus maintenance work is performed in the DPW building located on the same site.
May saw construction begin, of the $500,000 project. By June, footings and utility lines are in As late June arrived, walls are now going up. A grant from the Federal Transit Authority and Michigan funds make the project possible.
