  • Spring Clean Up

    CITY OF HANCOCK RESIDENTS (ONLY)

    2019 Spring Cleanup Schedule

    May 3rd and May 4th, 2019
    General Debris:

    Debris, such as old furniture, lumber, small metal items, etc. can be brought to the Public Works Garage, 1601 Tomasi Dr.

    Friday, May 3rd 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    Saturday, May 4th 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    General Debris Terms and Conditions: The DPW storage site will have restricted access and the site will be closed for debris drop off except for the above published times. Any debris left at the gate area will be treated as a littering offense by the City. The City is limiting the amount of material to 4 cubic yards per household or facility. Only two box springs or mattresses will be accepted per household or facility.

    WHITE GOODS WILL BE ACCEPTED BY THE CITY including refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers and microwaves.

    Scrap Metal- steel, iron, copper, brass and aluminum will be accepted including bicycles, lawn mowers, and snow blowers.

    PAINTS, OILS, TIRES AND BATTERIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!!!!

    Residency Requirement: The spring cleanup is only for City of Hancock Residents, and is limited to debris generated in the City. Proof of residency, such as a driver�s license, will be required at the DPW Facility (1601 Tomasi Dr.)

  • Saturday Office Hours

    The City Clerk's office will be open on Saturday, May 4th from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm to issue and receive absent voter ballots for the Tuesday, May 7, 2019 election. If you have any questions please contact our office at 906-482-2720

    Graduation will be held on May 5, 2019 at 1:30 pm at the Paavo Nurmi Center.

    Hancock Public Schools - All registered voters in the Hancock Public School District will vote at Precinct 3, Lakeview Manor.

  • Water Service Interruption

    There will be water service interruption on Wednesday morning, May 8th, 2019.
    The impacted area is Harris Ave., between Center St. and Vivian St.
    The water will be shut-off at 7:00 a.m. and will be off for a couple hours

  • Zoning Board of Appeals Public Hearing

    There will be a Public Hearing prior to the Hancock City Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting on Wednesday May 22, 2019. The Public Hearing will start at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, City Hall, 399 Quincy Street, Hancock, MI, 49930.

    The Public Hearing is concerning a request for a setback variance at 1080 Elevation Street to build a garage. Following the Public Hearing, the Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a meeting to act on the variance request.
