FU DEDICATES NEW PEACE POLE
September 26, 2014
Finlandia University recently dedicated a new Peace Pole in memory of Lauri Isaacson, a 1957 graduate of (then Soumi College). He later served as the Finlandia University Board President.

FU President, Dr. Phillip Johnson, chats with the Isaacson Family prior to the beginning of the Dedication. The Dedication began with some background information on the Peace Pole phenomenon in the World by Campus Pastor Soren Schmidt. Sharing the Dedication M/C honors was FU President Dr. Johnson, (white shirt). Lauri Isaacson’s son, Paul Isaacson, did the honors in removing the protective tape over the Finnish Language message side of the Pole.
Another side is revealed during the Dedication. The message, in various languages, May Peace Prevail on Earth, is inscribed on all four sides of the Peace Pole, which is located on the south side of the Campus Chapel on the Finlandia Campus.
