76 COMBINED YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY HONORED.(Updated).
January 4, 2015
Two longtime Hancock PD members have decided to retire, after a combined 76 years of Service. Chief Michael Beaudoin, after 38 years and 5 months, and Lt. Randy Mayra, after 37 years and 7 months of Police Service.

A retirement party was held on October 15th, at the Hancock Fire Hall, to honor both men, and celebrate their retirement. With many pizzas, coffee and refreshments, and course, the special cakes, one for each. A large number of townsfolk, City Officials and employees, and a large gathering of area law enforcement members were on hand to congratulate both men and their families. A unique opportunity to catch a photo of all local law enforcement heads, (L) Houghton County Sheriff Brian McLean; Hancock Police Chief Michael Beaudoin (for 4 more hours); and Houghton City Police Chief John Donnelly. Hancock City Manager Glenn Anderson opened the ceremonies, with City Mayor Lisa McKenzie and both retirees. Mayor McKenzie presents Chief Beaudoin with a Plaque of a City Resolution honoring his long time services to the City and the area.
And in due course, Lt. Mayra (for still two more days) receives his Plaque, and is thanked for his Service. A special guest, FBI Agent Leslie Hahn, presents a special Honorarium booklet to both of the retirees, on behalf of the FBI, Washington, DC, for their work over the years. Mayra and Beaudoin display their gifts and honors for the crowd. On behalf of the City Council, and the City at large, good luck and a super retirement from all of us. A well deserved retirement. You will be missed. Although retired officially at the end of last year, the two Police retirees recently were again honored, with a Michigan Legislative Resolution, presented by Michigan Representative Scott Dianda, to Mike Beaudoin (L)(Ret.), and Randy Mayra (Ret.).
They are joined in this photo by current Hancock Police Chief Wayne Butler (L), and Hancock City Manager Glenn Anderson.
