Description

Hancock is a full-service, council-manager city with 5,000 residents (including college students), a large contingent of vacationers visiting the area, a solid base of home-grown small businesses and a classic downtown district. The city also has available capacity in its water and wastewater utilities and space to add residential and commercial/industrial developments. Its General Fund Budget is over $2.5 million and currently has a 4% fund balance. When all funds are combined including Internal Revenue Funds, the 2017-18 annual budget totals $7.4 million.

Home to civic-minded, caring, residents who take pride in their community, Hancock is looking for an approachable and accessible leader who will flourish in a small-town environment and be comfortable in a cooler climate which produces over 200 inches of snow annually. Hancock will offer a competitive compensation package which will include a starting salary within the range of $75,000 to $90,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Starting date for the position is expected to be after July 1 and is negotiable.
