Event Pictorials
September 13, 2014
It was a special day ... the 25th Anniversary of the Parade of Nations. And Mother Nature paid tribute, at least in part, by giving us a nice Fall day for the 25th Parade.
Led off by a Native American Color Guard and a Color Guard Unit from the MTU Senior ROTC Detachments, this is a contingent from the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. Finlandia University President Dr. Phillip Johnson, accompanied by MI State Representative Scott Dianda ( r ), leads a FU group. This is a FU group of Canadian neighbors from North of the Border. These students are all the way from China.
And the Dragon, from SE Asia. And a number of students who have come from the Continent. Iran and Iraq have a delegation on hand. And our local Daughters of Italy, along with Italian students.
This South of Border gentleman flies the Mexican Flag. The Country of Nepal is here as well. The bagpipes are playing, as Scottish student make their presence known. Thailand is represented today.
As is Turkey today. And India always has a large student presence for studies. A great 25th year Parade, in Hancock and Houghton. The Parade made its way to Dee Stadium in Houghton, for food and entertainment of all venues.
